Jake Gyllenhaal says he’s ‘lucky’ to have had sex with Anne Hathaway twice in movies

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway have appeared as lovers on Brokeback Mountain and Love & Other Drugs

Jake Gyllenhaal, who stars in Spider-Man: Far From Home, mentioned that he feels really ‘lucky’ to have acted in fake romantic scenes with Anne Hathaway not just once, but twice!

Gyllenhaal gave Hathaway a kind of strange compliment by saying she had great ‘rhythm’ in the steamy scenes.

The two have played romantic partners in both movies they acted in together.

They teamed up for the first time on the important 2005 movie Brokeback Mountain directed by Ang Lee.

Gyllenhaal took on the role of Jack Twist, a gay cowboy who kept his true self hidden, and Hathaway played his wife, Lureen Newsome.

Jack was really focused on being like Heath Ledger’s character, Ennis Del Mar, but he didn’t have much chemistry with Hathaway’s character, even though they had a sex scene together.

In the movie Love & Other Drugs from 2010, Gyllenhaal takes on the role of Jamie Randall, a slick salesman for Pfizer. His life takes a big turn when he meets Maggie Murdock, played by Hathaway, who is dealing with early-onset Parkinson’s disease.

Even though the movie didn’t get a lot of love from everyone, with only a 49 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, critics still had to admit that Gyllenhaal and Hathaway had amazing chemistry on screen.

A reviewer pointed out that the movie is missing a special quality, but the connection between Jake and Anne is definitely there; they create genuine excitement together.

Gyllenhaal mentioned that he felt at ease doing love scenes with Hathaway because they had already worked together on similar scenes before.

While talking to the press about Love and Other Drugs, he mentioned, “I feel fortunate. Annie and I had already filmed a scene together in Brokeback Mountain, so I wasn’t really that anxious.”

“There’s something about the way Annie and I both work which is inherently very musical.

“It’s all about rhythm. There’s a rhythm to writing, there’s a rhythm to sports and there’s a rhythm to sex.

“I recommend getting in bed with Anne Hathaway to any man.”

Hathaway shared during the film’s press tour that one of her favorite moments while filming was when she ended up being “unnecessarily naked” in front of the cast and crew.

When talking about the scene where Maggie shows up at James’ apartment and accidentally reveals herself to his roommate, Hathaway remembered, “We had been filming for a few hours, everyone was comfortable, and things were going well. We had just returned from lunch, and I had stepped behind the set to chat with someone.”

Out of nowhere, I hear someone say, “Annie, you’re on!” in a whisper. Since they were whispering, I thought we were actually filming, so I rushed in and tossed my coat aside. I stood there, and I noticed Jake freeze and say, “Huh?” Then I figured out that the camera was set up differently and we were still just practicing. I ended up getting undressed for no reason in front of everyone!

“So then I pulled my trench coat on very quickly and it was obviously a case of life imitating art!”
