The Vikings organization expressed their sorrow in a statement that said: “We are heartbroken by the news of Khyree Jackson’s passing due to an overnight car accident. Our condolences go out to Khyree’s family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all those affected by this tragic event.”
Head coach Kevin O’Connell expressed his deep sorrow on social media regarding Jackson’s passing. “I am truly devastated by this news,” he stated. “Khyree infused our facility and team with an infectious energy. His confidence and vibrant personality quickly attracted his teammates.”
During the brief period we spent together, it became clear that Khyree had the potential to become an outstanding professional football player. However, what stood out even more was his determination to be the best possible person for his family and those in his circle.
I am speechless. My thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches, he concluded the post.
According to TMZ, Jackson started his college journey at the University of Alabama then moved to the University of Oregon for his senior year. In his final season, he recorded 34 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions.
A tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of Jackson and his friends occurred when a female driver, Cori Clingman, attempted to change lanes quickly on Route 4 while driving a silver Infinity, according to reports from Daily Mail.
Her maneuver caused her car to crash into Jackson’s Dodge Charger. At that instant, the Dodge struck another vehicle and swerved off the road, crashing into several tree stumps.
Clingman, along with her two passengers and the driver of the Chevrolet that Jackson struck, were all uninjured.
We deeply regret the loss of these young lives. May they find eternal peace.
