Amidst the joy of gift-wrapping, adorning the Christmas tree, sending out cards, filling stockings with presents, and all the other festive activities, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas.

This is the most joyous season of the year, commemorating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ, and his boundless love for us. It is an ideal opportunity to express your gratitude to your family and friends, and to acknowledge how fortunate you are to have them in your life.

Occasionally, we are privileged to witness extraordinary musical performances that emphasize the true significance of the celebration. The most recent rendition has left us in awe, as it may be the most compelling interpretation of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” by the diverse Irish ensemble Celtic Thunder.

The concerts and live performances of this group are widely recognized for their theatrical style and stunning visual effects. According to Damian McGinty, the group’s vocalist, touring together and doing what they love is truly a dream come true.

McGinty said:

“Each day presents an opportunity to explore a fresh and unique city, yet each night requires the consistent delivery of exceptional performance. This routine ensures that no two days are alike, while also pushing you to constantly strive for improvement.“

“Our music director, David Munro, has a ton of experience and great ideas. He plays a major role in deciding what songs and pieces we perform and record. David understands our voices really well and chooses music that he knows we can sing well, both alone and together as a group. However, there isn’t a secret trick to it. It all begins with going back to the basics and constructing everything from scratch. This involves gathering everyone around the piano to figure out which vocal part suits each person best.“

“Celtic Thunder has grown a lot and now it’s like its own thing. It lets artists be themselves but also pushes them to work together as a team. We all really care about it. Even though we’ve only done a few shows on this tour, it’s been amazing and the response has been great.“

The rendition of “Hallelujah” in the video provided evokes such strong emotions that it has the potential to move you to tears. The individual voices of the members come together in a flawless harmony that is sure to captivate you with its heavenly melody and hauntingly beautiful performance.
