Mark Zuckerberg Warns Facebook Users Not To Screenshot Chats
Mark Zuckerberg has issued a caution to users of Facebook Messenger against taking screenshots of their conversations.
Zuckerberg, in collaboration with his university roommates, established the social media platform Facebook.
He currently holds the positions of chairman, chief executive officer, and controlling shareholder of the parent company, Meta Platform.
The early stages of his career, along with his legal challenges and initial achievements with Facebook, were adapted into a film titled The Social Network.
Zuckerberg is now issuing a reminder and caution to Facebook users: refrain from taking screenshots of your conversations.

In 2020, Facebook introduced a feature known as Vanish Mode, which allows messages to automatically disappear on both Facebook and Instagram.
Vanish Mode guaranteed that messages would be erased once the recipient viewed them and exited the conversation.
At that time, Facebook stated: “Occasionally, a message is simply spontaneous – a thought you wish to express in the moment without concern for its permanence. This is why we are pleased to announce the introduction of Vanish Mode on Messenger, which allows you to send messages that automatically disappear.”
This functionality may be activated by swiping upward on a mobile device within an ongoing chat conversation. Users can revert to the original mode by swiping up on their screen once more.

Bridget Pujals, the Product Manager for Messenger, along with Manik Singh, the Product Manager for Instagram, stated in a release (as reported by USA Today): “Vanish Mode was created with a focus on safety and user choice, allowing you to manage your experience.”
Vanish Mode was initially introduced in the United States before being expanded to various countries within the European Union.
The Facebook Help Center currently indicates that the feature is ‘no longer supported’; nevertheless, disappearing messages are still available.
The introduction of disappearing messages is being implemented gradually and may not yet be accessible to you, it states.
To access the feature, click on the name of the individual you are conversing with in Messenger, then scroll down to the sections labeled Privacy and Support, where you will locate Disappearing Messages.

The description warns: “If someone takes a screenshot or screen recording, a notification will appear in the chat.”
Zuckerberg has cautioned users of Facebook Messenger regarding the practice of taking screenshots of their conversations in a message shared on the social media platform.
It reads: “New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message.
We are also incorporating GIFs, stickers, and reactions into encrypted chats.
The founder of Facebook shared a conversation he had with his wife, Priscilla Chan. He made a lighthearted joke regarding a supercomputer, to which his spouse responded by taking a screenshot, illustrating how the notification feature would function.
