JUST IN: 5 Charged In Matthew Perry’s Death, Including Doctor, Perry’s Assistant
Five individuals have been formally charged in relation to the death of Matthew Perry. Federal authorities in Los Angeles disclosed this information on Thursday. Those charged include Perry’s physician and an assistant who worked with him, as well as a second physician and a woman referred to as the Ketamine Queen.
The actor known for his role in Friends was discovered unresponsive in his hot tub on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. The Department of Justice has stated that the individual referred to as the Ketamine Queen is charged with supplying Matthew Perry with the lethal dose of ketamine that resulted in his premature passing.
Investigations have led to charges against five people in relation to Matthew Perry’s death

The main individuals implicated in the investigation are Dr. Salvador Plasencia, aged 42 and known as Dr. P, and Jasveen Sangha, 41, who is allegedly referred to as the Ketamine Queen. The other three individuals are facing separate charges.
The remaining three individuals consist of Dr. Mark Chavez, aged 54, who has been recorded in court documents acknowledging his involvement in the sale of ketamine to Plasencia; Eric Fleming, also 54, who confessed to distributing the ketamine that resulted in Perry’s death; and Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s assistant, aged 59, who admitted to administering ketamine to Perry on the day of his passing.
History repeats itself

These allegations are associated with an extensive investigation initiated following the death of Matthew Perry last autumn. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada stated that the investigative activities uncovered “a vast, clandestine criminal organization accountable for the distribution of significant amounts of ketamine to Mr. Perry and others.”
Estrada stated during a press conference on Thursday, “These defendants exploited Mr. Perry’s struggles with addiction for their own financial gain. They were fully aware that their actions posed significant risks to Mr. Perry, yet they proceeded regardless.”

Individuals observing the developments in the case and the events related to Perry’s demise may experience a disconcerting sense of familiarity. This situation evokes memories of the passing of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who tragically lost his life at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009. The official cause of death was determined to be acute propofol intoxication. In 2011, Jackson’s physician, Conrad Murray, faced charges of involuntary manslaughter due to the unintentional overdose that led to Jackson’s death.
During the press conference, Estrada denounced the conduct of the defendants. He remarked, “This is a substance that should only be administered by qualified medical personnel, and it is essential for the patient to be under careful observation,” referring to the trace amounts of ketamine discovered in Perry’s system after his demise. “Such monitoring was absent in this case.” Estrada further asserted that the defendants intentionally sought to conceal their actions, stating, “You are gambling with the lives of others, much like these five defendants did with Mr. Perry.”
