50 Cent spoke out on extreme transformation that people still can’t believe is actually real

50 Cent explained it wasn’t the first time he’d had to do it

50 Cent once talked about his dramatic change for a movie in 2011, and at first, many people thought it was just a prank.

Fans of the rap legend were surprised when old pictures popped up of him while he was making one of his earlier movies.

Even though the rapper from ‘Candy Shop’ is mostly famous for his music, he also has a pretty impressive acting career with parts in shows and movies like Power, Expend4bles, and 13.

In 2011, the 49-year-old acted in the movie All Things Fall Apart with Ray Liotta, Mario Van Peebles, and Lynn Whitfield.

Curtis Jackson is the real name of a guy who dreamed of becoming a professional American football player. Unfortunately, his hopes were shattered when Deon, a running back, got really sick from a genetic illness, which completely changed his life and ruined his dreams of playing sports.

To portray a football player battling cancer, 50 Cent lost a lot of weight, going from 214 pounds (97 kg) to 160 pounds (72.5 kg) in just nine weeks. He achieved this by sticking to a liquid-only diet and spending three hours a day running on a treadmill.

When you see the pictures of his change, you might not even recognize him as the rapper from ‘In Da Club.’ The difference is really amazing.

At that time, there were whispers going around that it was all a fake because people found it hard to believe that the celebrity had actually dropped so much weight.

The actor found the process really challenging, but it wasn’t something he hadn’t experienced before. He shared that back in 2000, when he got shot in the jaw, he could only drink liquids, which made him lose even more weight.

“This time it was a lot tougher for me,” he told the Associated Press at the time.

“I had to discipline myself not … to actually have myself be in the physical state to convey the energy I felt. It’s a passion project for me.”

While he was having a hard time staying fit, he started looking into how other actors changed their bodies for roles. Christian Bale is well-known for losing a whopping eight stone for his part in The Machinist, and Robert De Niro did something similar for his role in Cape Fear.

“I actually got on the computer,” 50 Cent said. “When it started getting difficult, I was looking to see what their experience was like and I got a chance to see all of the interviews they had at different time periods when they were doing promotion for the projects.”

Once the movie was finished, the actor promised that he would be ‘fit again really soon’ and all set to go on tour.
