The human brain instinctively tends to fit certain irregular shapes into patterns it is familiar with, that is, shapes that it has seen elsewhere. It is the phenomenon of pareidolia, much appreciated by Internet users, which leads to seeing, for example, the shape of a dog in a mass of clouds or a face screaming in a simple bump on the bodywork.
